Use your income tax refund to pay down debt or invest in your future. We can help facillitate the preparation and refund of your income taxes. We have partnered with JEDI and VITA to offer free tax preparation for the community.  We will begin scheduling in February, and we will begin tax preparation the 2nd of week of February.  Appointments are mandatory; Please call the HCCCC for more information at 493-1485.

BUSINESS STARTUP & ENTREPRENUERSHIP

Our partnership with JEDI can help will all things business.  Jefferson Economic Development Institute is a non-profit that provides resources for people, businesses and communities to create self-determined livelihood, healthy organizations and thriving economies. JEDI supports individuals to become self-employed and create economic stability, and a sense of financial well-being. JEDI raises awareness to the effectiveness of microenterprise in Siskiyou County.

DIGITAL LITERACY PROJECT

The Áak Utkírihti (He/She is looking into the fire) Project will provide mobile technology devices for the computer centers, outreach to the nearby kindergarten and elementary schools, professional development for staff, and digital literacy lessons for community members.  The goal of the project is for Tribal and local community stories to be developed and edited by children and young adults using mobile devices.  After complettion, stories will be shared at a series of digital literacy events.

KCLF

The Karuk Community Loan Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) California Corporation. In 2009, KCLF achieved recognition by the U.S. Treasury as a Certified Native CDFI (Community Development Financial Institution).  The mission of KCLF is to provide support through loans that empower our underserved public.

 

 

 

LAN Gaming Club

LAN (Local Area Network) gaming is quite a thing at the Happy Camp Community Computer Center.  Most afternoons, you will find at least 1, but likely 2-3 pairs of online gamers.  As soon as  secure a few new volunteers, Friday gaming nights will resume.
